Medium bio
I'm a strategic communications professional and public policy researcher based in Vienna, working at the intersection of digital rights, technology, and civic life. In 2014, I founded Geek Girls Myanmar, training over 1,000 women nationwide in digital literacy, and I later co-founded and led Digital Kaway, a digital marketing agency serving more than 100 clients. I've served as a juror and mentor for founders through Wildcats.io and Phandeeyar's programs across Southeast Asia. My MA in Public Policy from Central European University grounds recent research into digital repression in Myanmar, work recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia.
Long bio
I'm a strategic communications professional and public policy researcher based in Vienna, working at the intersection of digital rights, technology, and civic life. I hold a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Central European University, where my research focused on digital authoritarianism and freedom of expression — a natural extension of a career I've spent building platforms for women's voices and interrogating how power operates online. In 2014, I founded Geek Girls Myanmar, growing it into a nationwide community that has delivered digital literacy training to over 1,000 women across 15 regions, with funding I secured from Ooredoo Myanmar, the U.S. Embassy in Myanmar, and Meta. A year later I co-founded and led Digital Kaway Ltd as CEO, a digital marketing agency that worked with more than 100 clients on over 150 brand and campaign projects across Myanmar. As a Research Grantee with the CEU Budapest Foundation, I led a study on digital repression in Myanmar since the 2021 coup, combining interviews with activists and policymakers with original survey research, producing a policy report and op-eds. I've also researched disinformation as a Human Rights Intern with the Wikimedia Foundation. I've evaluated and mentored founders as a Judge for Strategic Communications with Wildcats.io, and as a mentor with Phandeeyar's Innovation Bus and Mandalay Business Challenge programs. My work has been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia (2017) and The Holm Report's Innovator 25 Southeast Asia. I currently host SheTalks, a podcast on Spotify.
